Some of these tiny islands including Ilet Pinel and Tintamarre will bring you as close as you can get to being stranded on an idllyic deserted island for a day. (No overnights allowed). There is no shortage of local boat operators taking visitors for day-trips. St Martin aficionados will notice that the design of the sands of the offshore island has been repositioned in the wake of the great hurricane of 1995. ACCESS TO BEACH: There is public parking at both ends of Orient Bay while Hotel Mont Vernon provides free parking (if there is room) next to its property. QUALITY OF BEACH: Seen from the air, this is a long crescent of golden brown sand bordered by a luminous turquoise bay that just begs for snorkelers. ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: The Orient Bay area is large enough to support numerous types of accommodation; hotels, villas and condo complexes have been designed to suit various styles and pocketbooks. As well, many of these have been built along the hillside overlooking beach and bay. The area has become known for is 'clothing-optional' attitude with rentals of parasailing and waverunners as popular as 'naturalist clinics' offering massages and body toning.
